2023-2024 Vocalist Audition Information

Audition Schedule
  • UNITY Vocalist Auditions will be held on Wednesday, May 17th and Thursday, May 18th.
  • Singers will perform Part 1 of the audition on Wednesday, May 17th during the time slot they have signed up for.
  • Singers will perform Parts 2 & 3 of the audition on Thursday, May 18th  beginning at 4pm.
 
Audition Process
The UNITY Vocalist audition will be comprised of 3 parts.
 
Part 1 – Prepared Songs (READ THIS CAREFULLY)
Each vocalist must perform 2 prepared songs of their choosing.  They should choose 2 songs of contrasting styles and tempo (a slow song and a fast song from two different genres).  You may pick songs from any genre you wish (R&B, Rock, Country, etc.).  YOU MUST HAVE ACCOMPANIMENT TRACKS WITH YOU AT THE AUDITION!
 
Part 2 – Dancing and Movement – You will be taught a simple dance routine at the audition.  This part of the audition will be performed in small groups.  Please dress in clothes and shoes that you can move in easily. 
 
Part 3 – Harmonizing – each singer will be required to perform the NMHS Alma Mater in small groups.  You may choose which voice part you would like to sing.  

UNITY audition results will be posted before
Midnight on Saturday, May 20th
